Colonel Brian D. “Bruno” Harris joined the National War College faculty in 2017 from the Jerusalem based Office of the United States Security Coordinator (USSC) for Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA), where he served as Director for Training, Education, and Leader Development (TED). He entered the ranks as an enlisted man in 1985, going on to eventually serve as a Senior Special Forces NCO. In 1994 he was commissioned at Officer Candidate School (OCS). COL Harris was assessed as a Foreign Area Officer (FAO) in 2003 and subsequently served in a variety of assignments in the Western Hemisphere to include Chile; Miami, Florida; São Paulo, Brazil; Guatemala; and Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. COL Harris’ civilian education includes a BS majoring in International Business with minors in Portuguese and Spanish (Brigham Young University - 1986) and a Master of Arts in Latin American studies (University of Miami - 2005).
