Dr. Charles Pasquale joined the National War College faculty in July 2016, bringing nearly 25 years of leadership, management, analysis, strategic planning, and operations experience in national security and business, including 15 years in the Intelligence Community. He has supervised and served in multiple units performing all-source analysis to inform intelligence executives; US policymakers and decision makers; military operators and leaders; and federal, state, and local law enforcement organizations. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor with Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and Adjunct Professorial Lecturer with American University’s School of International Service, and he was a tradecraft Course Director and Instructor at the Sherman Kent School for Intelligence Analysis.

He served for eight years in the US Navy, working in special operations as a Senior Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician/diver and deploying twice to Bosnia, first attached a US Army unit and then with a Navy SEAL platoon; he continued in the Navy Reserve as an Intelligence Officer until retiring with 20 years of service. He also was a Federal Air Marshal with the Department of Homeland Security, and he was Chairman and Board Director of a nonprofit Federal Employee Health Benefits organization during a key period of transition. He holds a PhD in International Studies from Old Dominion University and an MBA from the University of Maryland, University College. He also is a Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education alumnus, a life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, and a member of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance.
