COL Edmund “Beau” Riely joined the NWC as a member of the military faculty in 2019. He began his career at the 82nd Airborne Division in 1994 after receiving his commission through the ROTC program at Georgetown University. After four years in the active component, he transition to the Army National Guard. Over the course of ten years as a traditional guardsman, Beau worked in various staff and command jobs at the battalion, brigade, and division level within the 29th Infantry Division. Simultaneously, he worked in the Mid-Atlantic region for the Cintas Corporation, a Fortune 500 Company. Following a deployment to Afghanistan in 2009, he became a Title 10 Active Guard Reserve soldier. Most recently, he served as the Deputy, Exercise Division, at the U.S. Army Africa Command, Vicenza, Italy. He graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Finance. He also holds a M.B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD and is a graduate of the Army War College.
