Colonel Steven Barry joined the NWC as a member of the military faculty in August of 2020. He recently served as the Joint Task Force-Bravo Commander in Honduras. As an armor officer, he has served in a variety of command and staff assignments as well as combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom. COL Barry has extensive experience contributing to key strategic documents during his assignment to the Joint Staff, J5. He has previously taught history and statecraft at Ohio State, West Point, and Georgetown University. He holds a PhD in history from Ohio State University and a BS from West Point in 1996. He is the author of Battalion Commanders at War (U. Kansas, 2013).
