COL Lawrence B. White – USA

Assistant Professor/Electives Director

Colonel Lawrence B White, USA, is a career combat arms officer, joined the National War College as a member of the military faculty in March 2022.   He recently served as the Senior Military Advisor in the International Organization Affairs Bureau of the U.S. Department of State.  He was responsible for providing military related advice and counsel to the Assistant Secretary of State, Peacekeeping Office, Sanctions Office and other directorates associated with the bureau.   He has served in a variety of command and staff assignments Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army (OCSA), (Combined Force Command/United States Forces Korea (CFC/USFK), United States Pacific Command (USARPAC), Joint Task Force- North (JTFN), 1st Armored Division, 1st Cavalry Division, 75th Division, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment) as well as combat/stability tours in Stabilization Force 5 (1999) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (2005,2009-2010).  Colonel White has engaged/trained with foreign militaries of Iraq, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Canada and United Nations Peacekeeping missions.  Colonel White has a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from National War College, a Master of Science in Military Operational Art and Science from the Air Command and Staff College and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida A&M University.
