Dr. Terry L. Deibel joined the National War College in August 1978 where he servedfor 32 years as a professor of national security strategy. Dr. Deibel was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, L'Institut Universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales in Geneva, Switzerland, and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. His academic career included instructing at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Dr. Deibel was renowned for his research in strategic thinking. He is best known for producing the "Deibel Model" a principal archetype for developing strategic plans. His years of research culminated in the publication of his book, Foreign Affairs Strategy: Logic for American Statecraft.
