Colonel Jonathon C. Waller, US Air Force, joined the National War College as military faculty in July 2024. He was previously assigned to the Joint Staff, J-7 Joint Force Development Directorate, where he worked on implementing concept and strategy to advance the joint force for the 21st century. Col Waller was commissioned through the United States Air Force Academy in 2002, graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering. He holds Master of Science degrees in National Security and Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School and Military Operational Art and Science from Air Command and Staff College, as well as an MBA from Trident University. Col Waller commanded the 421st Combat Training Squadron, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, as well as the 3d Flying Training Squadron, Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma. He has completed staff assignments on the Joint Staff J-3, J-7, and NATO Air Training Command-Afghanistan. Col Waller is a command pilot with over 4,200 total hours in the C-17, T-1, T-6, C-208, and C-182 aircraft.
