Colonel Christopher A. Prentiss, USAF, joined the National War College as military faculty in June 2024. He was previously a student at the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. Colonel Prentiss received his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 2005. He holds a Master of Science in National Security and Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School, an MBA from American Military University, and an Integrated Supply Chain Management certification from Saint Louis University. Colonel Prentiss commanded the 517th Airlift Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, and has completed staff assignments at United States Forces Japan (Operations Directorate, J3), United States Transportation Command (Legislative Affairs), and Air Mobility Command (Manpower and Personnel Directorate, A1; Plans and Programs Directorate, A5/8). He is a weapons officer and command pilot with over 3,500 total hours (600 combat hours) in the C-17, C-12, T-1, and T-6 aircraft with multiple deployments across Southwest Asia.
