Ms. Rachel Rochford joined the NWC in the fall of 2024 as a research intern. She is a sophomore at Georgetown University where she is majoring in International Politics and minoring in Russian. Her research interests include hostage diplomacy, counter terrorism, conflict stabilization and resolution, and Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. Rachel has also interned for The American Security Project and the Traverse Project. She is currently an Alumni Ambassador for the National Security Language Initiative for Youth and is completing a Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund grant project. At NWC, Rachel is looking forward to developing a stronger understanding of international affairs from a military perspective. Outside of academics Rachel enjoys painting, hiking, and playing chess.
