Ms. Alina Kureshi joined the NWC as a research intern in Summer 2025. She is a rising senior at Johns Hopkins University, pursuing a combined BA/MA in International Relations with the School of Advanced International Studies. On campus, she is a member of the Model United Nations travel team.
Her research interests include national security, defense policy, Middle Eastern affairs, and Southeast Asian affairs.
Alina has interned in the United States House of Representatives. She has also conducted research for the Johns Hopkins Information Security Institute, where she helped develop the Cyber Attack Predictive Index.
Outside of academics, Alina is a 4th-degree black belt in Taekwondo. She enjoys reading and trying new restaurants in DC.
