Col Jamila W. Fitzpatrick, Ph.D. – USAF

Colonel Jamila Fitzpatrick joined the National War College faculty in June 2025. She recently served as the Deputy Division Chief, Joint Staff J-5, Europe, NATO, Russia Deputy Directorate, Russia, Ukraine, Eurasia Division. Colonel Fitzpatrick holds a Ph.D. in Military Strategy from Air University and three Masters Degrees from Air University and Boston University. She earned her Air Force commission in 2004 as a distinguished graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps after graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Colonel Fitzpatrick commanded the 6th Airlift Squadron, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, and completed staff assignments at the NATO Allied Air Command Staff and Joint Staff. She is a senior pilot with over 2,700 hours as a C-17A instructor aircraft commander and more than 700 hours of combat time in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, and ENDURING FREEDOM.
