Colonel Ryan A. F. Crowley, USAF, joined the National War College as military faculty in July 2025. He recently served as Commander, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and Commander, 11th Wing. Colonel Crowley earned his commission as a Distinguished Graduate from Virginia Tech ROTC. As an Air Force civil engineer officer, he also commanded at the group and squadron levels—81st Mission Support Group (Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi) and 52d Civil Engineer Squadron (Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany). His staff experience includes assignments at Headquarters Air Force and United States Africa Command. Col Crowley holds four Master’s degrees from University of Phoenix (2004), Air Force Institute of Technology (2006), Air Command and Staff College (2014), and Air War College (2020). Lastly, he established and taught the inaugural Leader Development Course for Squadron Command at Air University.
