Colonel Dan Wittnam joined the NWC as a member of the military faculty in July 2025. He recently served as the Director of the Marine Corps Integration Division at Combat Development and Integration. He has served in a variety of command and staff assignments as an infantry and reconnaissance officer, including the Commanding Officer of 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines and the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, the Deputy Director of Operation of the Marine Corps, the J35 at United States Southern Command, and multiple combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Colone Wittnam is a Joint Qualified Officer and attended the U.S. Army Captains Career Course, the Navy Command and Staff College, and the Eisenhower School where he received two master’s degrees in Defense and Strategic Studies and National Resource Strategy.
