Col Daniel J. Wittnam – USMC

Colonel Dan Wittnam, is a career infantry officer and currently serves as the Marine Corps Chair and an instructor at the National War College’s Department of Strategy and Policy where he joined the faculty in July 2025. His most recent assignment was as the Director of the Marine Corps Integration Division at Combat Development and Integration. Throughout his career, he has held multiple command positions including Commanding Officer 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines and the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center. His staff experience includes serving as the Deputy Director of Operations at Plans, Policies and Operations, and an operational planner in J35 at United States Southern Command. Colonel Wittnam was awarded a Master's of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School in 2017.
