Colonel Ashley S. Lee, US Army, joined the National War College as a member of the military faculty in July 2026. She most recently served as the Concepts Chief for Army Aviation and Army Capability Manager for Reconnaissance and Attack (AH-64/Munitions). She is a native of California and received her commission from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Colonel Lee is a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom with deployments to Iraq and the Horn of Africa. She has held operational assignments on the Korean peninsula as an AH-64D platoon leader and company commander. Colonel Lee has 25 years of military service and has received numerous awards and decorations for her service, including the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and the Bronze Star.
Colonel Lee has served in several operational and staff assignments throughout her career: Joint Staff’s J5 Security Cooperation Division Chief, overseeing the Joint Staff efforts to provide security cooperation to Ukraine, Executive Officer for the ATEC Commanding General, Secretary of General Staff at the National Training Center, and as an Observer/Controller/Trainer on the Eagle Team. Colonel Lee is a 2022 graduate of the National War College and holds masters degrees in National Security Strategy and Business Administration.
