Colonel Julie Gaulin joined the National War College faculty in June 2026. Most recently, she served as the Executive Officer to the Deputy Commander, United States European Command. Colonel Gaulin holds three master's degrees and is a 2019 graduate of the National War College. She earned her commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Oklahoma, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1998.
Colonel Gaulin has served in a variety of leadership positions, including Commander of the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, Vice Commander of the 374th Airlift Wing, and Squadron Commander of the 374th Operations Support Squadron, Yokota Air Base Japan. She is a command pilot with over 2800 flight hours in the C-130E/H/J, C-12J, and UH-1N, and has over 500 combat hours and multiple operational deployments.
Colonel Gaulin has held a variety of staff positions, including Executive Officer to the Commander of United States Forces Japan and Fifth Air Force; Pentagon Liaison to the U.S. Military Representative to the NATO Military Committee; and National Liaison Representative to NATO's Supreme Allied Command Transformation.
Colonel Gaulin is married to Eric, a retired USAF Lieutenant Colonel and has three children, one in college and two in high school.
