Col Oberhaus joined the NWC faculty as the SOF Chair and military faculty in June 2018 after graduating from the Eisenhower School. He received his commission in the U.S. Air Force in 1997. After earning his wings from Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training at Fort Rucker Alabama, he immediately began his career in Air Force Special Operations. Col Oberhaus reported to his first operational tour at RAF Mildenhall UK and is a designated evaluator pilot in the MH-53M and the CV-22B. He has served at Hurlburt Field FL; Kirtland AFB, NM; MCAS New River, NC; and multiple bases throughout Europe and the Middle East. A career SOF aviator, he has commanded a joint USAF/USMC unit and most recently stood up tilt rotor operations in the European theatre at RAF Mildenhall, UK. His staff assignments include Senior Officer assignments AFSOC/A1L and Executive Officer to Commanding General NATO SOF HQ, SHAPE Belgium. He has a BA from BGSU, an MBA from Touro University International, a MS from National Defense University, and is a graduate of the USAF Weapons School. Col Oberhaus has over 2500 flight hours in a variety of fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and tilt-rotor aircraft.
