Dr. Dylan Craig is a scholar of proxy wars, the intermediarization of violence more generally, and the "sovereign interstices" to which these intermediarized forms of violence are adapted; this is also the topic of his last book, "Sovereignty, War and the Global State" (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019). Before joining the NDU community in 2022, he taught security studies, colonial and Cold War history, and research methods at American University's School of International Service and at Rhodes University in South Africa. He holds an MA in Historical Studies from the University of Cape Town and a PhD in International Relations from American University.
