Pre-Attendance Training
Completion of Information Assurance (IA) training by all students is critical to maintaining the security posture of NDU systems. All students will need to access the Joint Knowledge Online training website and take the JS-US024 Department of Defense (DoD) Cyber Awareness Challenge and print out the completion certificate and have it with them during in-processing. DoD CAC holders who have taken the Joint Staff Cyber Awareness Challenge course previously are requested to bring a copy of their completion certificate to in-processing for our records. Since all users are required to keep their training current during their time at NDU, ensure that your training completion date is 1 June 2015 or later to ensure you won’t have to complete it again during your time of enrollment.
For DoD CAC holders: Go to https://jkodirect.jten.mil, log in using your CAC, and read and accept the DoD warning. On the page that appears after login, click on the tab for “Course Catalog” and enter "JS-US024" into the course number search box. When the course appears, select "Enroll."
If for some reason you are unable to accomplish this training prior to your arrival, be advised that there is a grace period after your arrival that allows you to complete the training while allowing you access to network services.

Different countries have different requirements for currency of this training event; however, if you have completed it within 24 months of April 2017 (our planned travel period), your training should be valid. Some countries have a 36 month requirement, but you won't know which country you are traveling to until well after you arrive, so, if you want to ensure you won't have to spend the 8 hours scheduled for this training during the academic year, complete it prior to your arrival to be current for your travel. Please print out and have your completion certificate with you for collection during your first week at NWC. If you do not have time to complete this prior to arrival, it will become a requirement for you to complete during the first part of the academic year. As with the Information Assurance training - go to the JKO website: https://jkodirect.jten.mil and in the "Course Catalog: tab search for the course number: A-US022. Once you find the course click on "Enroll." Then you can return to the "My Training" tab and you will find the course available for you to complete. This course takes a good bit of time to complete, you can start and stop the course at your own convenience while you complete it.
